What the first 30-60-90 days in the job will look like?
-Within 30 days you will:
Attend and graduate from our company-wide on boarding process along with detailed orientation program where you will learn Jazz’s values, business, and products. Meet with the People & Organization team to understand the strategy of the function in line with Organization strategy and company road map. Have meetings, with members of other teams to understand how each function at Jazz contributes to the overall success. Understand the function and processes of Fiber Optics Operations department within Technical, role and responsibilities of team within organization and high level understanding of network architecture.
-Within 60 days, you will:
Introduction to Jazz optical transport Network, understanding detailed Network Architecture, Nodes and Develop concrete understanding of Jazz Change Management Policy, full understanding of network HLD/LLD. Go through all the MOP & SOP of FOO Operations. Collaborate with Internal People within Technical (Peer departments), stakeholders (Marketing, Finance and Commercial) and Vendor.
-Within 90 days to onwards you will:
Develop thorough competency on optical transport Products and operations techniques of OFC. Would be able to perform first level O&M of optical TXN nodes, OSP/OFC operations, PM/CM of the network, Fault Management, Network Audit from both technical & financial perspective, Health Checks, Vendor Management, cross functional communication for efficient handing of issues and Project Execution with great product/technology knowledge. Continuously review and bring improvements to the Jazz Technology and Development framework and craft innovative solutions as per global best practices.

A bit about you:
We are looking for someone who has already worked in Optical Fibre and TXP equipment operations alike with hands on experience on SDH, DWDM, MSTP, OTN products of Huawei with sound technology insight. Must be weel versed with optical fiber communications and hands-on experience of various tools like OTDR, Splicers, Optical source/power meters etc. Must have good analytical and troubleshooting skills. We are also looking for someone who has excellent communication skills to be able to promote the department and technology portfolio with professionalism, maturity, and a balanced, holistic view of any competing viewpoints and last but not the least, the candidate must be a good team player.
A bit about us:
The Fiber Optics Operations Department includes both operations area i.e. OSP & ISP. Being the back bone network of Jazz, the business implications are always highly critical and our motive is to maintain high network availability with extensive PM/CM plans, OSP network health with agile response. Moreover, addressing TTs related to FOO ISP/OSP domain within SLA timelines is the key.
We are focused towards aligning learning and contribute to business effectively while aligning their behaviors to Jazz values.
The structure of the team you will join is:
9-member team (including the Manager) with 3 cluster teams placed at various strategic locations for effective network operations. Main tasks include day to day Operation & Maintenance of optical fiber and nodes (both CM & PM), trouble ticket handling, vendor audit/management, troubleshooting, interaction with support teams for ongoing issues, project and upgrades etc.
Essential skills must have:
Customer centricity approach to identify and fix network issues.
Technology: SDH, DWDM, MSTP, OTN, Optical Fiber Communications/Operations
Products: Huawei OSN and BWS family products, iManager U2000, Ericsson SPO products, Various types of optical fiber cables/joints/ODFs, laying techniques, troubleshooting inline to industry standards, OTDR/Splicing/Optical power meter hands on etc.
Should have an AutoCAD, Visio, MS office and Map source/Google Earth working knowledge, good interpersonal stature, should be able to work independently on remote sites and under pressure situations and should be well-organized.
Communication and presentations skills to make solutions/ideas understandable for respective audience segments
Should not have any concerns working in shifts round the clock and if required on holidays (including public holidays) as an emergency resource.
